Entrepreneurs CFOSpring confirms the year
The return should feel familiar. It is built from months you already closed and choices you already made, so spring is a confirmation instead of a reveal.
Start from the folder
What goes in the folder
Read What goes in the folder
The folder is thin on purpose. Closed months, the three pages, the wage stubs, the draws, the estimates that were paid, and a note of the October choices. If a month is missing, the folder stays open and the return waits. We do not pad the gap with a number that makes the year look continuous.
When the folder is complete, the return is prepared from it. Lines on the return should trace to a month. A reviewer, including you, should be able to see the path without a legend. We map that path in ordinary words. We do not hide it in a workbook only we can open.
Public pages show the shape of a folder. They never show a client's amounts. Yours will not either. The shape is what we are willing to say in public. The file is what we are willing to sign our name near, and only after the months agree.
What spring is allowed to feel like
Read What spring is allowed to feel like
Spring should be a reading, not a rescue. You open the return and you recognize the margin, the wage, the estimates, and the cash that left. Questions are about judgment, not about where a number came from. If the origin of a number is the question, the monthly pages failed, and we treat that as our problem to explain.
A rescue spring is what happens when the year was fog. We still do that work when you arrive late. We name it as catch-up. Catch-up has a count of open months and a fee that matches the count, quoted before we start. It does not get described as a normal season. Catch-up and a normal season are priced apart, and you hear which one the count describes.
We prepare the return. Nothing we prepare tells an outsider that the figures were examined. If a bank wants that report, the folder can still go to a firm that signs it, and the months we closed make their work shorter. The signature they are allowed to put on a cover is not one this practice puts on anything.
The order that does not bend

Open months, then the return. Not the return, with a promise to close later. Later is how a founder meets a notice with a story instead of a file. We say this on the first call, before a fee, because it is the condition of the work and not a surprise in month two.
Payroll stays on your provider through the return as well. The stubs are evidence. We do not retype payday in order to own it. We tie the stubs to the months and the months to the return. That tie is the whole craft.
If you want the return and you do not want the monthly reading, we will say what you are skipping. You can skip the reading. You cannot skip the close. A return on an open month is the one thing we will decline even when you are ready to pay.
Where the return stands
Say whether the months are closed, or how many are still open.
You will be talking to the Steven Palmieri practice.
